Jill Rubinstein, LGPC

Let’s face it, sometimes life can feel hard. That’s why it’s so important that our therapy sessions are infused with laughter too. Every session needs at least one good laugh!

About Therapist Jill Rubinstein

Hi! I’m Jill Rubinstein, your dedicated guide on the journey to self-discovery, empowerment, and a fulfilling life. I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), who brings a strong passion for creativity and a heartfelt commitment to fostering personal transformation. My mission is to help you uncover your inner potential and thrive in every aspect of your life. I aim to create a therapeutic space that feels comfortable and engaging, one that incorporates your unique interests and ideas.

I enjoy working with individuals of all ages who are grappling with life transitions, relationship issues, familial conflict, or struggles with self-esteem. I also enjoy working with folks who are a bit skeptical about opening up to a new person (aka a therapist-stranger) but are wanting to give it a try to make some changes. No matter your age, I will provide you with collaborative exploration and personalized skill-building to nurture self-awareness and empowerment, helping you to emerge stronger and ready to tackle life’s next hurdle. My passion for growth and resilience is contagious, fueling you with the drive to conquer obstacles and embrace life’s endless possibilities.

My approach draws heavily on the pioneering insights of Alfred Adler, who stressed the significance of belonging, personal significance, and social connectedness in each individual’s life. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and have an Adlerian yet solution-focused perspective. I integrate techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) alongside creative modalities like art and music. With genuine enthusiasm and empathy, I’m here to assist you in recognizing your innate strengths and navigating life’s challenges with confidence and purpose.

Education and Experience as a Therapist

I hold a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Community Health from the University of Maryland, College Park.

I have had the opportunity to work with people of various backgrounds, ages, and needs. In addition to private practice, I have worked in various Intensive Outpatient (IOP) settings treating presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, Bipolar disorder, PTSD, and OCD. I have received specialized training in S-CAT© to work with individuals struggling with Selective Mutism. I have worked as a “CommuniCamp” Counselor at the Center for Selective Mutism for their 3-day long intensive therapy camps and parent training. I am also passionate about working with neurodiverse individuals. Particularly, girls and women who struggle with ADHD. I have co-facilitated several groups for both children and women recently diagnosed with ADHD and enjoy educating this population and their families about the differences in presentation, diagnosis, and treatment amongst genders.

Beyond the Therapy Room

I was born and raised in the Philadelphia area and love and support my Philly sports teams. I love all animals but my Portuguese Water Dog, Pepa, holds an extra special place in my heart. I love music and attending concerts (yes, I am a Swiftie and I did go to the Eras tour).

There’s nothing better than binge watching sappy reality TV like The Bachelor or Love Island. I enjoy traveling and have been to more than half of the states and hope to visit all 50. I am a huge foodie and in my free time I enjoy trying new restaurants and creating new recipes. I love staying active, and spending time with friends and family!
