More often than not, mental health care a marathon, not a sprint. This may not be your first rodeo. Or if it is your first, this may not be your last. This comes significant financial costs and varying levels of insurance coverage and reimbursement.
At Montgomery County Counseling Center, we strive to make our therapy services both sustainable and accessible. Sustainable outcomes are achieved when several family members are in therapy at the same time. While this comprehensive mental health approach increases success in treatment, it also increases the expense. We created the Family Care Plan to address this catch-22, acknowledging the value of your investment in a comprehensive family approach.
Each family has unique needs and financial circumstances. At MCCC, we want to do everything in our power (albeit limited) to ensure that the cost of therapy is not a barrier, preventing you and your family from receiving the care you need.
Designed for Families Receiving Multiple MCCC Services
Our Family Care Plan is specifically designed for families who currently receive three or more of our services. Some examples of this include these configurations of care:
- Individual therapy for a child, individual therapy for a parent, and couples therapy for both parents.
- Individual therapy for sibling 1, individual therapy for sibling 2, parenting coaching for the family.
- Individual therapy for child, Parent coaching, and family therapy
- Indvidual therapy for sibling 1, DBT skills group for sibling 1, individual therapy for sibling 2.
- DBT skills group for adult, individual therapy for adult, couples counseling
The list could go on and and on. But the gist of it is this: if you are receiving any THREE services concurrently, we invite you to discuss our family care plan option based on an equitable access model.
Equitable Access to Therapy
Based on a socially conscious pricing model (sometimes referred to as the Green Bottle Model), our plan takes into account the diverse financial situations each family faces, ensuring that our cost of care aligns with your ability to pay.
At the heart of this initiative is trust. We believe that YOU know your circumstances better than we do, and we should not be the judge and jury of your situation. Our family care plan and equitable access model places confidence in our clients to accurately report their financial needs, fostering an environment of mutual trust and respect.

Here’s how our family care plan works:
If you receive 3+ services from MCCC, we invite* you to discuss the family care plan. This could at the time of intake if you are inquiring about multiple services. Or it could be anytime during your care with us if additional services are recommended and/or added to family’s treatment plan.
*This is not a requirement by the way. You are welcome to decline this offer and pricing will remain the same as it is for any singular service.
Our intake specialist will send you a form explaining our equitable access model, with the green-bottle image included. You will be asked to self-identify with one of the 3 levels of personal financial experience. Based on your response, we will inform you of the pre-determined the price reductions you may be eligible for.
Eligible discounts will be applied throughout the duration of your care in 3+ services.
Have feedback about this family care plan?
It takes creative and vulnerable brainstorming to implement and effort like this. And it is a constant work in progress. If you have constructive feedback you’d like to share about this model, feel free to email our executive director Laura Goldstein. Please be kind.
